OUR IMPACT ON OUR COMMUNITY
DOING OUR BEST MEANS MAKING A DIFFERENCE.
In the Erie community and around the world, Bonnell’s Auto Group gives back with time, talent, and dollars.
It’s a responsibility we take seriously. Each and every day. A commitment from our team to support nonprofit organizations that can change lives.
Women’s Care Center of Erie
Bonnell’s believes in the work of the Women’s Care Center in Erie. It’s been a place of comfort, support, and health since 1982.
The Center helps women facing unplanned pregnancies, individuals making difficult lifestyle choices and couples considering adoption.
Through financial contributions, Bonnell’s Auto Group helps ensure the Center can provide their services free of charge – without regard to age, race, nationality, religious affiliation or circumstances.
ARK Charity
Erie’s local children’s charities deserve our support. So Auto Racers For Kids raises money to help. And Bonnell’s is proud to be their partner.
Thanks to the generosity of fans, drivers, tracks and sponsors in area auto racing, ARK Charity has been able to donate more than $350,000 to benefit 16 different Erie nonprofit groups. All so these organizations can continue doing the great work they do.
Raising money isn’t always easy, but when it comes to kids in need, we agree they deserve our very best.
EUMA
EUMA provides life-changing opportunities for those who live at the margins of homelessness. At Bonnell’s, we think this is what community is about.
EUMA – Erie United Methodist Alliance – is the only emergency shelter in Erie that can keep the entire family unit together by housing them in their own room. This helps provide some level of stability to children and families amid the difficulties of homelessness.
Bonnell’s Auto Group feels that when we donate to EUMA, we are helping moving people from homeless to home, from hopeless to hope. It’s simply what every family deserves.
Erie Dawn
Erie DAWN helps homeless women get back – to work, to their kids, to their lives. And Bonnell’s does their vehicle service to ensure they can do so.
Working in partnership with area landlords, Erie DAWN provides safe transitional housing for low-income women and children.
The goal is to provide them with a home while giving them the support, sources, and tools they need to achieve economic self-sufficiency and permanent housing.
It’s a journey that Bonnell’s Auto Group tries to make a little bit easier.
Michael Making Lives Better (MMLB)
Strengthening kids. Empowering families. Building communities. That’s what MMLB does for Erie and Bonnell’s is delighted to help them in their mission.
What started as free student haircuts for the first day of school has grown into an annual community event. Attracting more than 1,000 participants, MMLB’s Family Resource Fair offers backpacks filled with school supplies, dental exams, immunizations, vision screening, and even CPR training.
As MMLB founder Michael R. Hooks says, success is “about taking what life has given you and making the very most of it.” At Bonnell’s Auto Group, we couldn’t agree more.
ServErie
ServErie connects people in need of resources – volunteers, materials, donations. Like Bonnell’s, they believe in helping the community help itself.
Focused on the Erie “footprint” of East 6th to East 12th and Holland Street to Wayne Street, ServErie mobilizes and equips volunteers from all walks of life and connects them directly to the community’s most pressing needs. In fact, ServErie School Initiative led the renovation of four of Erie’s city schools.
ServErie works to serve, to connect, to equip, to renew. At Bonnell’s Auto Group, these also are part of what we do.
Good Samaritan Project
There’s an orphanage in Haiti that needs food and supplies. Erie’s Good Samaritan Project stepped in to help. And so did Bonnell’s.
Housing about 100 children, the orphanage’s needs are real. And we think the solution is quite simple. Financial contributions and helping hands. Bonnell’s Auto Group is happy to offer both.
Scott Bonnell, our founder and owner, has been on three mission trips there already. Soon he’ll make another. Just another way we give our very best.
Bonnell’s Annual Rod Shop Cruise-In
Beautiful cars. Great food. Wonderful friendships. It’s all part of Bonnell’s Annual Rod Shop Cruise-In to benefit Erie area charities.
Every August it’s time to honor the memory of our good friend, Bob Lorei and collect some money for our community. So far, we’ve raised more than $50,000. All to help organizations like Auto Racers for Kids (ARK) and others.
At Bonnell’s Auto Group, sometimes giving our very best is simply doing what we love.
Convoy of Hope
Convoy of Hope is a national nonprofit founded in 1994 by the Donaldson family. Their inspiration for starting the organization can be traced back to the many people who helped their family after their father, Harold was killed by a drunk driver in 1969. Today, more than 115 million people have been served throughout the world by Convoy of Hope. Bonnell’s Auto Group partnered Convoy of Hope, bringing the outreach to Erie, PA. We served over 2,400 community members, organized 760 volunteers, engaged 25 churches, four photographers, 16 health organizations, 16 job/career companies, and 20 community service organizations. There were over 3,000 meals served, 1,560 shoes given away, 5,000 grocery bags of food donated, 205 family portraits taken, countless back to school haircuts given, and over 750 toothbrushes handed out. The Bonnell’s Auto Group team was fully engaged in the day and could not have been more pleased with all of the connections made from this awesome event!
MS Bike Team
Erie Seawolves
Bonnell’s Auto Group is a proud sponsor of the Erie SeaWolves. Our team has participated in countless events over the years and been a sponsorship partner with them in many community parades.
Millcreek Annual 4th of July Parade
Bonnell’s Auto Group believes in community involvement and support, which is why our team sponsors and decorates a parade float each year in the Millcreek Annual 4th of July Parade. Our employees are fully engaged in the process, from float concept to walking in the parade and handing out candy on the 4th.
Make-A-Wish
In 2010 the Bonnell’s Auto Group team put together $6,000 to make a wish come true for a local child. It was a memorable day for all involved.
Relay for Life
In 2017 Bonnells’s Auto Group raised over $1,700 for this amazing charity.
